A high DPI doesn't matter if you have a low sens, vice versa (ie, you could have 500 DPI with 40 sens, or 1000 dpi with 20 sens, they equate to same thing) FYI, my DPI is set at 500 with 30 in game sens (with default windows mouse sens) and at ~diamond II. I believe my sens is quite low compared to the average.
At lower resolutions the amount of toner particles used to create an image lowers significantly. This pales the image but still makes it clear, distinct and visible for use while lowering the amount of toner used. At 300 DPI a laser toner printers faster and uses less toner than at 600-1200 DPI. Then, like in the "real" world, using a high resolution display will not benefit this image and may even make it a bit worse, because it will be automatically upscaled according to the OS settings. On the other hand, one can realise these benefits by saving a 200-300 DPI image and rely on downscaling on "normal" displays.
300 dpi will look much better than 150 dpi but take a considerable time to print. You will get less. artifact on higher resolution printing (dependant on paper source also) and a 300 dpi print will be. close to photo resolution if taken with a megapixel camera at the right size. Remember camera.
"Open your pic in photoshop and resample it at 300 dpi and at 200% its original size. Then, scale it down manually from one of the corner handles. The end result should be quite crisp."
